Why MTN, Microsoft Partner to Enhance Business Operations with Cloud Technology

As more businesses recognized and embrace cloud computing, MTN has joined forced with Microsoft to present opportunities offered by cloud technology to transform business operations and drive growth in both private and public sectors.

The collaboration, according to the organisations will help bring transformative cloud technology to Nigerian organizations through products that will digitize their business operations.

According to a study by the International Data Group, 69% of businesses are already using cloud technology in one capacity or another, and 18% say they plan to implement cloud-computing solutions at some point. It is ti be noted that Dell also reports that companies that invest in big data, cloud, mobility, and security enjoy up to 53% faster revenue growth than their competitors.

Speaking at a breakfast meeting with C-level executives,  the Chief Enterprise Business Officer at MTN Nigeria, Lynda Saint-Nwafor, in her speech said, “Cloud has become the backbone of modern business operations revolutionizing the way we store, process and analyze data, the way we collaborate across teams and the way we deliver value to customers.

Also the MTN Nigeria Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Hassan Jiva while speaking on the theme: ‘The Cloud Advantage-Unlocking Opportunities for Large Corporate and Public Sector’, said cloud technology has continued to evolve the business landscape and has become a necessity for businesses and organisations that strive to remain competitive and resilient in today’s digital transformation era.

“The partnership with Microsoft is to present opportunities offered by cloud technology to drive business growth and resilience that will accelerate digital transformation,” Jiva said.

Furthermore, the Group Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at MTN Nigeria, Mr. Chika Ekeji, who presented the keynote paper, said MTN has outlined its Ambition 2025 platform strategies to serve organisations better, both in the private and public sectors. He listed the strategies to include: Mobile money, Enterprise service, Network as-a-service, among others.
