Unity Bank Bullish on Q3 2024 Profits, Targets N5.2 Billion Gain

Unity Bank Plc is forecasting a strong performance in the third quarter of 2024, projecting a Profit After Tax (PAT) of N5.2 billion. This optimistic outlook was revealed in the bank’s latest earnings forecast submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX).

The forecast indicates an overall positive trend for the bank. Unity Bank anticipates a pre-tax profit of N5.7 billion, alongside a targeted gross earning of N26.93 billion for the quarter. This represents an encouraging 8.2% increase compared to the N24.89 billion projected for Q2 of 2024.

A closer look at the earnings breakdown reveals further positive signs. The bank expects its interest income to reach N23 billion, contributing significantly to a projected net revenue of N6.58 billion for the period. Additionally, operating income is anticipated to climb to N13.38 billion, demonstrating growth across the bank’s core operations.

Unity Bank’s financial health is further bolstered by a projected rise in cash flow from financing activities, reaching N353.6 billion. This improved liquidity position strengthens the bank’s ability to support its business operations and future endeavors.

Moreover, the improved projected cash from financing activities and the expected increase in cash and cash equivalents highlight the lender’s strong liquidity position, which is critical for sustaining current and future business operations.

The lender stated that it expects the results to be achieved and surpass the projection, barring any unforeseen significant changes in the operating macroeconomic environment under which assumptions underlying the forecast were made.

Analysts believe that the positive outlook of the lender’s Q3, 2024 earnings forecast reflects strategic growth in key financial metrics, a focus on strengthening its income base, efficient financial management, and enhancing customer deposits geared towards maintaining a strong, stable, and profitable financial institution.
