Stanbic IBTC Holds Third Edition of LATTES to Empower Women with Opportunities

As part of its commitment to women empowerment, opportunities and development in Nigeria, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Limited, a subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC, has recently held the third edition of its Ladies At The Table Empowerment Series (LATTES) virtually through a webinar on July 5, 2023.

The event which was themed “The Woman of the Future” was organised to empower and equip women with resources knowledge and information they can use to succeed in their businesses and careers, as well as and how they can achieve a balanced life with work and home. The event featured high-profile business leaders from various works of life who shared their experiences, practical life issues and insights on how they achieve a
work-life balance and healthy living.

This year’s edition featured seasoned panelists like Juliet Ehimuan, Founder of Beyond Limits Africa; Dr. Omolola Salako, Founder, Sebeccly Cancer Care and Pearl Oncology Specialist Hospital; Tobi Ayeni, Founder, MissTechy; and Solape Akinpelu, Co-founder and CEO, HerVest. The event was moderated by Mojibade Sosanya, Lead Compere, Mojibadeshow.

During his opening remarks at the virtual event, Olumide Oyetan, Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Pensions Managers, noted the importance of empowering women and the role they play in changing the landscape of every organisation and the world at large. He noted that the organisation is targeted at inspiring women so that they can challenge the status quo and make a difference in all their life’s endeavors.

According to Oyetan, “Stanbic IBTC has set aside this transformative event to inspire women on how they can reach new heights and unlock their full potential. Through this platform, we believe that by empowering women, we can create new opportunities for them, not only as individuals but for their families and wider communities.

“As a Bank, to make this event remarkable, we have invited women of value to share invaluable insights, life experiences and strategies on how they scaled through life hurdles and become champions and world changers. At Stanbic IBTC, we want to use these opportunities to leave a lasting impact on our women and empower them with the right resources and information they need to emerge as winners in life,” Oyetan added.

Speaking at the virtual event, Juliet Ehimuan, Founder, Beyond Limits Africa, encouraged women to take their future into their hands, especially when it comes to balancing career, family and community. She noted that to stand out as a woman, you must find long-term solutions to your problems in life by having some elements of success.”

According to Ehimuan, “The future of today and tomorrow is dependent on several success factors which include intentionality, courage, digital empowerment, growth mindset, and adaptability. These factors will help shape our perception and mindset towards achieving our goals as women. We are therefore encouraged to make use of the best of today’s technological tools, resources and opportunities to shape our world to make the future a better place. You must define the life you want and create it despite the challenges confronting you.”

In her closing remarks, Nike Bajomo, Executive Director, Business Development, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, emphasized that the organisation is committed to helping women triumph, not only in their businesses or careers, but also in their homes and giving them equal opportunities.

The event started in 2021 with the theme “Balancing Career Success, and Personal Wellness” which featured business experts from various fields. In 2022, the event was graced with the theme “Rising above Bias,” which hosted renowned banker – Sola David-Borha, Chief Executive, African Regions, Standard Bank Group, where she shared her personal experience and encourage every woman on how they can change the world from her own corner.
