… readiness to revive Informatics Kazaure

The Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi CCIE has charge Information Technology (IT) Institutions in Nigeria on extensive and qualitative training on Emerging Technologies.

Inuwa made this charge during a courtesy visit by the Rector of the Institute of Information Technology, Kazaure, Professor Babawuro Usman to the Agency.

The Director General emphasised on the need for Information Technology institutions to brainstorm and come up with a strategic framework that will set a pace for teaching Nigerians Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing and Robotics courses.

“If you look at how the world is moving now, you will find that technology companies employ larger workforce than manufacturing companies. This happened because of emerging technology. What a human being can spend long time to produce, a machine can produce it in higher quantity in a short period of time,” the DG added.

While assuring the Agency readiness to revive the Institute as one of the epicentres of harnessing IT gurus in the country, Inuwa noted that the importance of teaching Nigerian students courses on emerging technologies cannot be over emphasized.

Inuwa noted that, under his watch, NITDA will do everything possible to ensure that the once renowned Information Technology Institute will rise again from its present state and move to compete with other international IT institutions.

He said the Institute has, over the years, graduated thousand of Nigerian youths who are presently offering technology services in various corporate entities and business organisations across the globe.

“It is a great pleasure to have received you in my office today. Your institution has been doing a great a job especially in grooming young Nigerians in Information and Communication Technology.

“I assure you my total commitment and readiness to revive this great institution through capacity building, introduce special courses and also provide necessary tools to those who excelled among their peers, so that we can create potential employers, not employees of labour.
