The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has restated its commitment in advancing the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the country through its robust e-Commerce delivery system, designed to boost the Nigerian economy.
The Postmaster General of NIPOST, Dr. Ismail Adedayo Adewusi, stated this during NIPOST’s Special Day at the 2020 Lagos International Trade Fair, said NIPOST would continue to leverage technologies to diversify and enhance her services in the different areas of its operations, including the e-Commerce space
The NIPOST special day is aimed at creating greater awareness amongst our teeming customers and stakeholders on the importance of Postal Service worldwide.
Postmaster General who was represented by the General Manager, E-commerce and Logistics, Mr. Kunle Oladapo, said, “The Nigerian Postal Service is in business to give social services to the public through is numerous Product and Services.”
“NIPOST counter have been automated with the latest ICT facilities making it easy for customers to receive and transfer their money to any part of the country at the shorten possible time.”
According to him, “NIPOST offers 6 hours air post express delivery in major cities such as Abuja. Port Harcourt and Lagos, adding that there is also same day delivery in Lagos for mails posted 2.00pm and guaranty secured mail processing for EMS(Couner and percles).”
He also noted that, NIPOST is driving socio-economic development through online internet facility for producers of made in Nigeria goods to send their items and deliver those dispatched from other countries through e-commerce. It operates warehousing of goods in some of post offices in the Northern part of the country.
“During this period, NIPOST has put in place International Postal System IPS and integrated Postal Management System IPMS in order to improve access to postal service within and outside the country.”
“The Nigerian postal service is also leveraging on technologies to diversify and enhance her services which can be seen in different areas of our operations and has developed markets to move the economy forward in line with the best practice worldwide”.
Oladapo also noted that the MSME businesses are taking advantage of NIPOST’s competitive rates to deliver goods to their customers all over the world.
“Our eCommerce and e-logistics venture is gradually taking a center place in business networking. The address verification system AVS is gaining ground and so is the digital addressing system”, he said.
