NCC Alerts Nigerians on Fraudulent Employment Letters



The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has warned the general public not to fall victim of false employment letters in circulation purportedly signed by the Chairman of the Commission, Professor Adeolu Akande.

In a disclaimer signed Monday by Henry Nkemadu, its Director of Public Affairs, and seen by Business Remarks noted that the public should be wary of such employment letters from fraudsters and scammers.

“The public should know note that the Commission has standard recruitment processes and procedures like any other government organization which the Commission strictly abides by”, the statement reads.

The Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC) is the independent regulatory authority for the telecommunications industry in Nigeria.

The Commission was created under Decree number 75 by the [Federal Military Government of Nigeria] on 24 November 1992 and was charged with the responsibility of regulating the supply of telecommunications services and facilities, promoting competition, and setting performance standards for telephone services in Nigeria. The Decree has been abrogated and replaced with the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) 2003.
