Moba sets to host cultural festival as monarch calls for government, corporate bodies support

Cultural festival is the bedrock of history and tradition that promotes richness and values.
It’s essential to make this topical discourse a priority in community dispensation to uplift cultural heritage and glory.
These were the words of the paramount ruler of Moba community in Ojo Local Government area of Lagos state, Ambassador Rasak Aliu Adisa during the official unveiling of the community’s cultural festival to commemorate the monarch’s 10th year on the throne.
The cultural festival which is billed to officially hold between 3rd and 19th of December is to showcase cultural activities of different natures in the community.

The Baale said his kingship has undergone several strategic programs since his emergence as the ruler of the community.
He said, “since my emergence as the Baale of this community, we have embarked on the structuring and restructuring of the village, all strategies laid to rebuild and rehabilitate the kingdom was achieve to an extent, I also appreciate the effort of both the state government and the local government for their unflinching support’’.
He said part of his achievement since inception of his rulership is the rehabilitation of some ultra-modern facilities in both educational and Health sector which has boosted the community’s infrastructure output.
The Baale also boosted the presence of infrastructural development in the community has brought and attracted some investors into the town which has created employment for the youths of the community.

He said the vision of the community is to improve its cultural heritage through this kind of cultural festival.
Baale Adisa believes that the community’s Art, culture and tourism which he describes as ‘’Lagos New Discovery’’ will to bring development to the community and also serve as attraction to investors.
He however called for the support of the state government, private individuals and corporate bodies to partner with the community for the hosting of the event and to tap its virgin resources and treasures.
He promised to make Mona  cultural festival  2018 event a memorable outing for the community while also commending the state government and the leadership of the Local government for their supports.
In his goodwill message, the chairman, Lagos state RTEAN, Alhaji Chief Musa Mohammed said the Moba Cultural Festival is coming up at the right season considering the drastic development in Lagos.


“It is crystal clear that this initiative has come to say.

“This is an avenue for the community growth and development. The festival is a platform to connect cross-cultural communities towards a sustainable Lagos”, Mohammed noted.
He thereafter endorsed Moba Cultural Festival as an annual event and also urged all government parastatals and private bodies to invest in this initiative for a better Lagos.
Also speaking during the unveiling, the Chairman of Nagari Nakowa Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (NNAMORAL) Lagos state chapter, Alhaji Sulaimon Adesina, popularly known as Jafo who lamented on the poor road network in the area urged the state government to come to the aid of the community by constructing bridge in the riverine community to make it accessible.

However, he employed the members of his association (the bike and tricycle men) to be gentle, friendly and more accommodative to visitors on the festival day.
He also urged his members to make the festival a memorable one for all.
