Mixed reactions from Nigeria citizens has trailed the president freshly acquired West African Examination Council Certificate (WAEC) certificate.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday received his West Africa Examination Council certificate from Dr Iyi Uwadiae, the Registrar of the council accompanied by Olutise Adenipekun, Head, National Office, Abiodun Aduloju, Head Public Affairs and Olufemi O Coordinator Coordinator.
The news was shared on Twitter by Femi Adesina, Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Devotional.
The President thanked the examination board, established in 1952, and which conducts the WAEC examination for University and JAMB entry examination in West African countries, for upholding its integrity over the years, adding that he did not expect anything less from the institution.
Adesina tweeted, “WAEC presents attestation certificate and confirmation of school cert result to President Buhari. What will the naysayers say next?”
Photos of the certificate presentation at the State House followed and Nigerians have been reacting to the news, demanding to know why he is just collecting his certificate from WAEC, after he had presented a sworn affidavit to the Independent National Electoral Commission, claiming that his certificate was with the military.
