inDrive Granted License to Operate Ride-Hailing Services in Abuja

Ride-hailing platform, inDrive has received a license to operate public transport services in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja. This significant development marks inDrive’s expansion within the country and allows them to offer their unique mobility services to residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The license was issued by the FCT Transportation Secretariat, following completion of the company’s licensing process. With this official authorization, inDrive can now legally provide on-demand transportation and logistics services through their mobile application within the FCT.

“This is exciting news for Abuja residents,” said Timothy Oladimeji, Senior Business Development Representative at inDrive Nigeria. “There’s been a strong demand for inDrive’s services in the capital, and this license allows us to contribute to the city’s transportation system by offering safe, affordable, and reliable mobility options.”

inDrive’s unique model sets them apart from traditional ride-hailing companies. They prioritize user experience with a peer-to-peer pricing approach. This empowers both passengers and drivers to negotiate and agree on fares before booking a ride, ensuring transparency and a stress-free experience.

inDrive’s popularity is a testament to this innovative approach. The app boasts over 175 million downloads worldwide and is recognized as the second-most downloaded mobility app globally. With a strong presence in over 16 Nigerian cities including Lagos, Benin City, and Port Harcourt, inDrive is poised to make a significant impact on Abuja’s transportation landscape.

This license goes beyond just offering ride-hailing services. inDrive’s presence in Abuja has the potential to contribute to the socio-economic growth of the city by facilitating an accessible and interconnected urban mobility system.
