The Association of Licensed Telecommunication Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) has announced the approval of extension of deadline for linking NIN to SIM Registration Database in Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the association’s Chairman, Engr Gbenga Adebayo sent to Business Reemarks
Adebayo confirmed the recipient of a formal confirmation from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) that President Muhammadu Buhari has graciously approved the extension of the deadline for subscribers with NIN to link it to their SIM registration data from 19th January to 9th February 2021.
“We want to thank the President for giving us more time to deliver on this all-important assignment of creating a credible national identity database for the country. We are also grateful to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ibrahim Ali Pantami, for his commitment to enabling digital economy.

“To ensure that we utilize the extension period judiciously, we urge all telecom subscribers who have a NIN to link it to their SIM Cards through available channels as soon as possible. Those yet to enrol are advised to visit www.nimc.gov.ng for a list of enrolment centres close to them”, he said.
In a similar statement, the telecom association body seek for the continued patience and understanding of esteemed subscribers as they work with all stakeholders towards speedily resolution of issues affecting SIM Registration/Swap and activation.
“We assure you of restoring normal services in a seamless and effective manner as soon as possible”, he says.
