COVID 19 will Boost Business Opportunities in Nigeria’s Technology Space – Elrufai

The Executive Governor, Kadanu State, Nigeria, Nasir Elrufai has said that Covid-19 pandemic disease ravaging the entire world right now will enhance the growth and expansion of fintech and mobile money opportunities in Nigeria.

Elrufai said during an online conference organised by Africa.com titled ‘Crisis Management for Africa Business Leaders’ that Covid-19 will change the way people live, work and enhance business opportunities in the technology space, adding that the new normal will be different from what we used to know.

“We must provide internet, both 3G and 4G must be available over the country because everybody now need for education and healthcare”

He also identified delivery and logistic business as opportunities Covid-19 will bring, as it will drive the need for people to build more businesses in that sector.

Covid-19 will change the way we live, work for the rest of our life. The new normal will be different from what we used to know. It will also create new business opportunities to thrive.

Elrufai urged governments at all levels to see Covid-19 as a wakeup call to build strong and functioning public health system.

In his words, “For the first time, Nigerian elites and government officials have been locked down in Nigeria to use Nigerian health facilities because they can’t go abroad. We are grateful to the private sector for their contribution to fight the deadly virus”

Recall that the governor tested positive for the virus on March 28, 2020 and infected four other people who have now been tested negative.

Governor Elrufai was previously the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory from 2003 to 2007 and the director of the Bureau of Public Enterprises.
