The Head of Electrical Department, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Engineer Abdulrahman Musa was awarded as the top engineer of the 21st century by the International Chartered World Learned Society.
The award which took place in Lagos during the week was graced by different personalities in different sectors of the economy.
According to Abdulrahman, hard work and commitment pays because people are always watching ones activities and dedication.
“By the Special grace of God, I believe it is the good works have been doing that is taking me high in this field
“Well, I would say that people are watching, when you are doing the right thing. Of course they know what you are doing even though we are many. I have Senior Engineers but God have been choosing me. And all I can do is to thank God”, he said.
Speaking further, he said this is not the first award he has gotten.
“I have gotten different humanitarian awards. In addition to that, I just came back last week from Accra where I was given another award.
“Here am I again for another award from the International Institute of Charted Society as a Fellow in that Institute”, Abdulrahman noted.
Advising the upcoming generation, he employed them to be hard working and dedicated in their discharge of duties.
“Laziness doesn’t pay. When one becomes lazy then it becomes impossible to get to the top or achieve anything worthwhile.
“When one work hard, prays and back it up with God’s support, then success becomes achievable. It is just a matter of time”, Abdulrahman advised.
Furthermore he addressed the challenges encountered on the path of success.
According to him, it depends on leadership.
“I train people, not just in engineering which happens to be my field but also in administration – how to get the job done properly and easily. Because at the end of the day, everything is not just about plugs, testers and spanners.
“I make sure they know how to carry out their duties, with or without thorough supervision, that’s how I work with them” he noted.
“We recognized him as the learned in his field, we also recognized him as a charted Fellow”. He said.
“We also give him this award to recognize his deeds so as to put in more effort as he has been doing for both National and International.
Aremu said, “my advice to upcoming generation is that, if Buhari says the youths are lazy, it is a challenge for us to work very hard and have focus so as to achieve our aims and objectives because we are the Future of this country”, quoting the President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari.
